Wine Tasting Note: A pretty, medium-weight young vine shiraz whose light floral and peppery aromas of ripe cassis and plums and cedary oak precede a smooth and relatively simple palate whose sweet forward fruit doesn't quite live up to its promises. Wine Tasting Note: Presently rather disjointed, but likely to find more balance with time in the bottle, this firm and astringent dry red cloaks its deep flavours of dark plums, redcurrants, mulberries and blackberries around sweet new chocolate and vanilla oak and a sinewy spine of dusty tannins. There’s a hint of cedar beneath its smoky, oaky bouquet, while it finishes with a persistent hint of dark olives. (Frankland River, )

Wine Tasting Note: A polished, smooth and elegant cabernet blend of Alkoomi’s typically unctuous and dark-fruited style. Its confiture-like fragrance of blackberries, dark plums and cassis reveals herbal undertones of crushed vine leaves and cedary oak. Silky and refined, the palate’s deep fruit flavours and dusty, lightly smoky vanilla oak are coated by fine tannins. Tightly focused, it finishes with a tangy note of dark olives. Wine Tasting Note: Firm and well structured, with an earthy, cedary bouquet of slightly cooked cassis, dark plum and mulberry aromas. There are underlying nuances of chocolate and crushed ant. Wine Tasting Note: Fine and complex, this smooth, juicy and fruit-driven wine just lacks the impact for a higher score. There’s some funky mineral and wheatmeal complexity beneath its smoky aromas of grapefruit, melon and matchstick oak. Long and smooth, with a light babyfat texture, its bright citrus, melon and lightly tropical fruit finishes with delicacy and freshness. (Frankland River, )

Wine Tasting Note: Earthy, complex and rather reductive cool climate shiraz whose meaty aromas of licorice, black plums, small dark berries and chocolate oak are dark and brooding. There's plenty of spice about its pliant, creamy palate which is brightly lit with intense small fruits, plums and prunes, before a lingering and finely integrated savoury finish.

Wine Tasting Note: Ultra-ripe aromas of slightly stressed and shrivelled black fruits with pencil-shavings wood and some meaty, horse-hair influences. Spicy, earthy and meaty, with a long and moderately full palate of concentrated dark fruits, chocolate and treacle, polished cedar/vanilla oak and licorice-like undertones. Dries out at the finish, but should make good shorter term drinking. 16.8, drink 2006-2009.

Wine Tasting Note: Its perfume of cassis, violets, plums and blackberries overlies sweet chocolate/vanilla/cedar oak qualities and distinctive meaty, leathery and earthy nuances. It’s long and well structured, delivering a complete palate of dark plum, cassis and mulberry-like fruit and sweet oak framed by firmish backbone of fine-grained tannins. Wine Tasting Note: Dark, spicy, deeply flavoured and brooding, this leathery and rustic shiraz presents meaty flavours of blackberries, mulberries and plums with cedary oak over musky and rather reductive undertones. It’s long, linear, fine and quite restrained, marrying sweet berry fruit with pencil shavings-like oak, but appears to have been slightly over-protected from oxygen, of which it could perhaps have used more. Its delicate bouquet of pear, lime juice and creamy, lees-derived bound sulphide complexity precedes a palate of focus and definition.
