Comments and Tasting Notes:

The history of Arrowfield dates back to 1824 when George Bowman planted a vineyard on the Upper Hunter Valley site still occupied by Arrowfield Estate today. During the 1970’s Arrowfield Estate was the largest vineyard in Australia, and the long-standing tradition and commitment to quality winemaking continues to this day.

Winemaker Notes

The Hunter Valley is renowned for producing Semillons which transform over time from crisp, lemony, grassy light bodied wines into complex honey toasty wines with great length and persistence. The Semillon fruit for this wine came from old low cropping vines on the Arrowfield Estate vineyard in the Hunter Valley. This wine has been carefully cellared for three and a half years prior to release. As a result this wine is starting to show some complex honey characters combining with aromas of cut grass and vanilla water. The wine is starting to develop some mid palate weight and has a long and intense crisp lemony finish. With careful cellaring this wine will develop more complexity and weight over the next 3-5 years.
